Area churches and nonprofit organizations not yet included in the Echo Press Guide to Douglas County can contact the newspaper for a free listing in the 2021 book.
The listings include the organization name, address, website, email addresses, and contact information for key personnel, such as directors or pastors.
In coming weeks, the Echo Press will be contacting organizations already listed in the guide for updates.

If we thought the MAGA crowd was only playing a messed-up political word game in service of their Fuhrer, we were wrong.

Two new board members took their oath of office during the Osakis School Board meeting Monday, Jan. 11.
Justin Dahlheimer and Amy Schoeck-Weisser were elected to the school board in November and will take over the seats previously held by Tom Grundman and Genny LeBrun.

LeBrun, however, will remain a school board member, as she was appointed in December to the seat previously held by Chris George, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, after a heart attack.
She will fill the position until this fall, when the school board will hold a special election.

Alexandria City Council members vowed to follow three “Rs” in 2021 – their roles, responsibilities and respect.
At their first meeting of the year Monday night, they unanimously adopted a Code of Conduct for elected officials.
The 13-page document, originally adopted in 2016, describes how the mayor and council members should treat one another, city staff, consultants, constituents and others they may come in contact with while representing the city.

This event is free and open to everyone, and it will be held on Monday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m.
Several awards and recognitions will be shared throughout the evening, including the 2020 Friend of the Chamber and this year’s Top 5 Under 40 Young Professionals.
