Together they will create a performance that focuses on the passage of early settlers to New Zealand on sailing ships, in particular the Edwin Fox, which resides in Picton. The resulting 20 to 30-minute drama will be performed on the main stage of the Picton Maritime Festival on Saturday, January 23.

Performing duo KiwiJam are inviting local children to join them for a performance at the Picton Maritime Festival. Festival administrator Steve Hall said one of the main themes of the festival was to celebrate the maritime heritage of Picton and the Marlborough Sounds. The Edwin Fox was a centrepiece of the maritime history of New Zealand, being the ninth oldest surviving wooden sailing ship in the world and the only example of a merchantman.
