The Mets barely defeated the Braves 2-1 with the help of a spectacular play in the ninth. Edwin Diaz gave up a leadoff double in the inning, and then on a base hit Michael Conforto came up firing to home where James McCann put down a fabulous tag to preserve the slim lead. Then with two outs Diaz got Pablo Sandoval to fly out to nail down the save.
Tylor Megill got the start on his birthday and was excellent once again. He pitched into the sixth inning and his only blemish was an Austin Riley home run that ended his night.
