ESPN will have a
Star Wars-themed MLB broadcast on May 4th, which is also known as Star Wars Day. That is the day after ESPN will have their special Avengers-themed broadcast of the Warriors-Pelicans game. Just listen to this, via The Wrap:
For the broadcast, ESPN will have its on-air commentators dressed in full costumes: Karl Ravech (play-by-play) as Luke Skywalker, Tim Kurkjian (analyst) as Yoda and Eduardo Perez (analyst) as Poe Dameron. Ravech and Kurkjian will be in ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios, while Perez will be at his home in Miami.

The other is hitting .353 with three home runs.
So on paper, it seems like a no-brainer: the guy with the better numbers should be in the starting lineup. And that guy is Kyle Higashioka. The 31-year-old backup got the start Thursday against the Cleveland Indians, and went 2-for-4 with an eighth-inning home run in the New York Yankees’ 6-3 win.
“The reason that [the Statcast broadcast] matters to me is players are using this information every day,” White Sox voice Jason Benetti said. “I say this to Stoney [Sox analyst Steve Stone] a lot: ‘If you were pitching in this era, you would absolutely use this, right?’ He’s like, ‘Oh, totally.’ ”

When ESPN aired the National League wild-card game between the Cubs and Rockies in 2018, the network produced an alternate version of its regular game broadcast based on MLB’s Statcast tracking for the first time. White Sox announcer Jason Benetti handled the play-by-play.

The first series between the loaded Dodgers and Padres gave us three exciting games last weekend in Petco Park in San Diego. All were televised locally, but that didn’t stop the baseball world lauding the series. This weekend the teams meet again at Dodger Stadium, with the paucity of national telecasts ending with double exposure on Sunday.
The series finale (4 p.m. PT Sunday) will be the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball telecast, with Matt Vasgersian, Alex Rodriguez, and Buster Olney on the call. This we already knew. But ESPN2 will also give us another broadcast, the first Statcast telecast of the season, with Jason Benetti, Eduardo Perez, and Mike Petriello on that call.

Mention Lapland and most people conjure up an image of herds of reindeer galloping across a desolate, snow-covered landscape. But there s a different kind of stampede taking place in this remote region of Finland â a gold
