Each year, my friend David Dockery releases an end-of-year list of noteworthy books. I am happy to share them with you.
I trust that the forthcoming holiday period will provide moments for rest and renewal for many from what has been an exhausting 2020. Perhaps these days will even provide an opportunity for some of us to catch up on some of the important publications that have been released since last year’s holiday period, which now seems like a long time ago. While the list of quality books published in recent months is lengthy, here are a few noteworthy suggestions, beginning with books

Data analytics startup ChaosSearch has raised $40 million in Series B funding, providing a cash infusion the Boston-based company will use to support its rapid growth.
The new round of financing, which brings the company’s total funding to $59 million, was led by new investors Stripes and Moore Strategic Ventures, with participation by Series A investors Glasswing Ventures, .406 Ventures and Stage 1 Ventures.

New York-based growth equity firm Stripes and Moore Strategic Ventures led the Series B round, which brings the company’s total amount raised to more than $59 million. Stripes partner Ron Shah is joining the board.
ChaosSearch emerged back in January 2017 touting its a secure, scalable log analysis platform that’s hosted in a multitenant or dedicated software-as-a-service environment, using an Amazon S3 as a hot data store.
ChaosSearch positions its platform as an alternative to what’s called the ELK stack, which refers to a complex stack of the Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana open-source projects. Companies use the ELK stack to aggregate logs from all of their systems and applications, then analyze those logs to help with tasks such as application and infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting and security analytics.

The technology developed by Analog Devices is allowing over 400 UL students to learn the fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering from the safety of their home.
The partnership has assisted these students in overcoming the challenges to off-campus teaching and learning presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is one of the first approaches in Europe to build a structured curriculum for fully remote experimental learning.
