Windsor outbreak centered at care home

WINDSOR A COVID-19 outbreak at the Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community included 23 people as of Monday morning, an uptick of a couple of cases in the past week, according to an administrator.
The outbreak, which has left two residents of the Judith Brogren Memory Care Center dead, is primarily concentrated in the memory care center where 13 residents and six employees have been infected, said Kristi White, executive director of The Village at Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community, the independent and assisted living residences at the Windsor facility.
In addition to the deaths, two memory care residents were hospitalized at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center last week and another was undergoing rehabilitation at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, White said.

I can’t tell you how many times as a performer I’ve shown up for a soundcheck, guitar in hand, only to be asked if I was a roadie or a fan. The assumption is never that I might be there to play an instrument, let alone a guitar. But this is nothing new early blues women that played guitar didn’t receive equal attention, either.
COVID-19: More cases found at Sullivan County, Hanover nursing homes

UNITY COVID-19 cases at senior living facilities in the Upper Valley continue to climb.
An outbreak at Sullivan County Health Care in Unity has grown to include 20 people, according to Ted Purdy, the nursing home’s administrator. Since Jan. 5, 11 residents and nine workers have tested positive for the virus, Purdy said in an email. Additional testing of both residents and workers took place on Tuesday, he said.
Residents’ symptoms have ranged from none to coughs, nausea and elevated temperatures, Purdy said.
Four employees of Kendal at Hanover have recently tested positive for the virus, spokesman Jeff Roosevelt said in an email. Two Kendal employees also tested positive in September. So far, no residents at the facility off Lyme Road have tested positive, Roosevelt said.
