First home buyers left out of NSW budget23/06/2021|4min The New South Wales budget which was handed down on Tuesday has been criticised for failing to address housing affordability. Property prices in Sydney have jumped around 25 per cent since the start of the pandemic but Treasurer Dominic Perrottet has proposed changing stamp duty to an annual land tax to make it easier to buy a home. However, Mr Perrottet revealed the government is still taking feedback from various stakeholders and there will not be an answer to the feedback until July 30 this year. Sky News Business Reporter Ed Boyd said despite the lack of support for first home buyers, it was a good budget overall and included record spending on infrastructure over the next four years, as well as record spending on health and education.
