Robert Boczkiewicz Special to the Tribune-Democrat DENVER  A man in Las Animas who allegedly had sexually explicit photos of naked young girls is charged with the federal crime of possessing child pornography. The case against Joseph Anthony Elliot is in Denver at the U.S. District Court for Colorado. The court file was unsealed on Monday. A judge advised Elliot, 66, of the charge and of his constitutional rights. He is being held in federal custody. A nine-page affidavit for Elliot s arrest states that an investigation began Dec. 31, 2020, by Bent County sheriff s Sgt. William Williams on a report regarding naked photographs of children at a home. The home was in the 300 block of Vigil Avenue, where Elliot was a resident, but not the owner.
