Virtual Learning Opportunities for foreign English teachers and professionals
The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is now accepting applications for the Fall term Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Scholarship Program.
The OPEN Program offers 8-week, online, university-level courses in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) developed by U.S. educational institutions.
All courses use the latest in instructional technology to provide participants with an interactive distance-learning experience and are designed to familiarize participating teachers with current methods and issues in the field of English as a Foreign Language. The OPEN Program also connects participants with U.S. English language teaching experts and creates a professional network of international colleagues.

Ulaanbaatar, May 4, 2021 The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) today organized a discussion with members of Mongolia’s Parliament, or State Great Khural, on ways to increase citizen engagement in the political process. The event is the latest in a series of workshops on legislative transparency taking place under USAID’s Strengthening Women and Youth Engagement in the Electoral and Political Processes in Mongolia (SWYEEPPM) program.
The discussion focused on ways to utilize both traditional media and new digital platforms to engage constituents, as well as best practices and lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaker G. Zandanshatar opened the forum, and former U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte provided the keynote address.
