Google is still promoting paid for “rip-off” adverts despite promising a crackdown three years ago, in some cases, an investigation has uncovered.
Websites charging people vastly inflated or unnecessary fees for administrative tasks such as changing driving licenses or getting visas to visit America are being promoted over legitimate government services on the search engine.
The findings come after Google promised in 2018 it would remove the ads, which are in breach of its own rules.
