The Orlando Pride (4-1-3, 15 points) fell for the first time in the 2021 NWSL regular season, losing 2-1 to the Houston Dash (3-3-1, 10 points) at BBVA Stadium. A poor first half for the Pride was the difference as the Dash scored twice in eight minutes.
After keeping multiple starters out of the starting lineup in Kansas City, tonight’s game in Houston featured a familiar look. Taylor Kornieck’s midweek knock meant she was questionable for this game and ultimately kept out of the lineup. She was replaced by Meggie Dougherty Howard, who moved into an attacking role. Chelsee Washington was given her second NWSL regular season start alongside Gunny Jonsdottir in the defensive midfield.
Toronto, which conceded late goals in recent 3-2 losses to Orlando City and Nashville SC, looks to pull out of its nosedive on Saturday against FC Cincinnati (2-5-1) at Orlando s Exploria Stadium. Nobody here is happy or satisfied with how things are going right now, Bradley said Friday. Nobody is ready to write anything off. But the reality is that it s a new team, it s a new group coming together. Circumstances have made it a little bit more challenging, for sure, but we are going to get things going. I think the team and the club has earned the respect and the pride of our fans over the last five, six, seven years. And so I get it. Nobody likes or is happy with the results right now. And we feel that part as well. But whether we re in Orlando or Hartford or Toronto, we need our fans to stay close with us, because we re going to get this thing right. We re going to continue to push forward in a strong way, and that s that.

Following the disappointing defeat to Nashville SC on Wednesday night, Toronto FC are back at the Exploria Stadium to take on FC Cincinnati in their 10th game of the 2021 MLS season.
The defeat meant Toronto dropped to 13th in the Eastern Conference standings after Cincinnati were able to win 1-0 over the East’s bottom side, the Chicago Fire.
The Reds have now tallied just five points from a possible 27 and are eight points behind the playoff spots.
Despite a bright first half against Nashville, TFC capitulated in the latter stages of the game and ultimately returned to camp in Florida without even a point. That stretched Toronto’s winless run to five, with Armas’ men having only recorded just one point since their only MLS win of the season against the Columbus Crew back in early May.
