Leh, Jan 11: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was called on by Haji Mirza Hussain, President District Kargil Olympic Association at Raj Niwas today.
In a representation, Hussain submitted a request for the draft on Sports Policy for Ladakh and opening of an international level high altitude training centre with hostel facility in Kargil considering the huge scope of adventure and winter sports in Kargil. The memorandum also highlighted other important issues including reservation in jobs and colleges under sports quota, construction of all-weather international standard Ice Hockey rink, sports stadium, archery stadium, cricket stadium, river rafting and other adventure sports focusing particularly on developing and promoting winter sports in Kargil. JAMMU, Jan 11: Elite Tigers defeated Elite Blues in second match of ongoing Elite Premier League 40 overs, organised by Trikuta Cricket Academy at Railway Ground, here today.
Elite Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first. Elite Tigers scored 154 with the loss all wickets in 37.1 overs. Anmol Manhas scored 36 runs, whereas Samar made 22 runs and Ridham contributed 14 runs. For Elite Blues Abhay and Aditya took three wickets each while Ainesh and Dhruv bagged one wicket each.
In reply, Elite Blues scored 158 runs with loss of only five wickets in 27.3 overs in which Arsh Aithman scored 46 runs, Pranav made unbeaten 42 runs and Yuvraj scored 25 runs. From Elite Tigers Javed bagged two wickets and Rishab took one wicket.

Jammu, Jan 11: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Junior Coach of fencing, Rachna Jamwal was today nominated as member of the “Talent Identification Zonal Committee” for North Zone (Fencing) of the Khelo India Identification Programme.
As per the letter issued by Dr. S S Roy, High Performance, Director, Khelo India Talent identification, Ms Jamwal has been nominated as a member of Talent Identification Zonal Committee” for North Zone (Fencing) of the Khelo India identification programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Narender Mahajan nominated Associate vice-president of HFI

JAMMU, Jan 9: Narender Mahajan has been nominated as Associate vice-president of Handball Federation of India (HFI) for next three years, here today.
It was decided in a meeting, which was held here under the leadership of the HFI president Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The president of the Association today handed over formal appointment letter to newly appointed Associate vice president of the Association in the presence of senior vice president Anandeshwar Panday, treasurer Vinay Kumar Singh , Rohit Singh president JKHA and other office bearers of the Association, looking his excellent performance during the last tenure as office bearer of the HFI.

DODA, Dec 31: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode flagged off marathon race under Fit India Campaign, here today.
The race started from Sports Stadium Doda and culminated at Ganpat Bridge Pull Doda by passing through Dessa Chowk and Dak Bungalow. The motive of the marathon was to generate awareness among the common masses about value of healthy life.
More than 600 participants including girls and boys from different schools of various age groups participated enthusiastically in the marathon. The DDC highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness in the development of healthy society. “Marathon is the best way to keep the body fit and healthy,” he added.
