LIVE FUTURES 26/07: LME prices rise slightly after Friday gains Base metals on the London Metal Exchange edged up during morning trading on Monday July 26, building on gains averaging about 1.3% made last Friday amid a myriad of supportive factors. The exchange’s nickel price was at $19,450 per tonne at 9am on Monday, after touching $19,645 per tonne during early trading. This compares with $19,372 per tonne last Friday.
The metal gained 4.8% last week, having had a closing price of $18,492 per tonne on July 19.
Concerns over supply from Indonesia continued to support nickel prices on the LME, particularly since the country extended a lockdown in response to rising Covid-19 cases until August.
