Continuing with our celebration of this year’s CALS Award recipients, we are sharing information about the winners of the University Staff Awards this week.
Jason Ball
Jason Ball is the facilities manager for the Wisconsin Crop Innovation Center (WCIC). The WCIC is a large 100,000 sq. ft. complex that includes labs, greenhouses, growth rooms, culture chambers and cold storage rooms which all need constant monitoring. Since his start at the WCIC five years ago, Ball has ensured that the building and equipment are always operational for the essential research that takes place at the center.
As the facilities manager, Ball performs critical preventative maintenance on various facilities at the center. Ball’s preventative maintenance work is critical to prevent any breakdowns in the building, which is now almost 40 years old. III of the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu is the recipient of the 2021 Dr. Henrietta Mann Leadership Award.

Kahumoku’s life’s work is committed to the educational success of Native Hawaiian learners, said Benham.
