This was shared by state Health Minister Keshab Mahanta. The Minister has asked Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath Pranab Sarma to look into the possibility of making more space available for more ICU and ventilator beds in the old civil hospital building. The Minister, however, assured that Biswanath will get 10-20 more ICU beds very soon, arrangements have been made for that and the number of hospital beds would be increased to 100.

BJP won 60 seats and Congress was able to garner 29 seats as announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI). BJP’s alliance partners Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won 9 seats and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) won 6 seats. The Congress-led Grand Alliance partners, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) won 16 seats, Bodoland People’s Party (BPF) 4 seats and Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 1 seat.
