SAFETY â Trooper Greg Scalley of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Wintersville Post addressed teens at Indian Creek High School on the importance of traffic safety. The schoolâs Family, Community and Career Leaders of America group received a $1,000 Family Acting for Community Traffic Safety grant and held an activity which included a driving scenario, surveys and prizes for students who completed an online program.
WINTERSVILLE A $1,000 grant has enabled the Indian Creek High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America to highlight the importance of traffic safety.
The 20-member student organization received the Family Acting for Community Traffic Safety grant in January and capped off their promotion on Wednesday by partnering with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and TEAM Automotive Collision Center to educate more than 100 students aged 16-18 on the FACTS curriculum. Daytona State College has received the Entrepreneurship, Education and Training Grant from the Florida Department of Education. It is designed to introduce students in Career and Technical Education programs to the mindset required of successful entrepreneurs, while guiding and developing their entrepreneurial skills. The grant also allows the college to partner with local business and development organizations to promote long-term economic growth in Volusia and Flagler counties.
Through CTE programing, the project will promote and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset for Daytona State students. It is designed to deliver relevant instruction and experiential learning, provide individual guidance for students, and offer co-curricular activities in relation to the successful L. Noah Buntain, a 2017 graduate of Elon’s Interactive Media program, died on Feb. 17 following a battle with liver cancer, according to The Daily Orange, a student-run newspaper published at Syracuse University. Buntain was a doctoral candidate and graduate research assistant in Syracuse’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

According to The Daily Orange, Buntain arrived at Syracuse shortly after his graduation from Elon and taught a multimedia storytelling class. His own research focused how humans process information in virtual and augmented reality, and how those technologies could be used to tell better stories.
