Darlington drink driver reached100mph during high-speed police chase A BANNED driver who took police on a high-speed chase has been jailed for ten months. Scott Wright reached speeds of 100mph as he tried to avoid being arrested after police recognised the disqualified driver and tried to pull him over. The 35-year-old was driving along Geneva Road in Darlington when the pursuit started and he was only brought to a halt when officers deployed a stinger as he raced along Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe, in the early hours of the morning. Teesside Crown Court heard how he took roundabouts on the wrong side of the road as he sped along the A67 towards Yarm and reached speeds of 100mph in a built up area.
