Back in the early 1960s a gentleman named Roy Mann coined the phrase “Hump Day” around a water cooler at a Dupont Plant. In 1975, J.J.Cale wrote a song “Friday” where the lyrics included the words Hump Day. Somehow, I missed learning and hearing about all that until a veteran told me every Wednesday was considered a Hump Day.
I wanted to know why Wednesday was considered a Hump Day and I was told, “If you notice, camels all have a hump, and in order to ride one, the hump must be climbed over. Some camels even have two humps and I imagine the ride isn’t comparable to a luxury sedan. But, the idea is to get over the hump to get in the saddle.”
