Niger State Gov Sani Bello
Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger, has disclosed that no fewer than 50 villages in five Local Government Areas of the state have been deserted due bandits’ attacks.
The governor made the disclosure on Monday in Minna while opening a two-day training workshop for local government directors and revenue officers.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the workshop has the theme: ‘Strategies for Enhancing Internally Generated Revenue of Local Governments in Niger State.’
It was organised by the state Local Government Service Commission to explore ways of generating more revenue to tackle development challenges including security and refugee problems.

Your Worship, let me remind you that when I took office as Chief Administrator effectively on the 1st of December 2017 l inherited a cash balance of the Freetown City Council’s own source revenue of Le50,907,542 (Fifty Mllion Nine Hundred and Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Forty-two Leonies). Whilst this meagre amount was the cash balance, the following were inherited as liabilities of the FCC:

As part of his administration’s effort to cushion the impact of coronavirus pandemic on vulnerable residents of Osun State, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, on Thursday flagged off Osun Food Support Scheme aimed at feeding 30,000 citizens.
The governor, while disclosing that the initiative is another way of keeping faith with the government’s promise to prioritise their welfare and general well-being, he said the scheme has become necessary because available statistics point to the fact that many jobs have been lost with many sources of livelihoods significantly threatened as a result of the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
