The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has debunked news making the rounds on social media that a student was found dead on its new campus.
Lamara Garba, Secretary, Information and Publication Unit of the University, in a statement said social media post alleging that a student of BUK was found dead on the campus is fake, malicious and with no substance.
“Investigation has revealed that the deceased identified as Adamu Shanono was not a student of the university.
“Security operatives have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder,” he said.
Garba said that both suspects are in no way connected to BUK Kano.
Kano: Police withdraw personnel from Bashir Tofa-led KCCI activities

The police authority has ordered the withdrawal of police security to members of a Kano-based non-governmental association, Kano Concerned Citizens Initiative, KCCI, headed by Alhaji Bashir Tofa.
The order, which came on Monday, followed an earlier arrangement with the state’s police command to provide security to members of the group especially as they embarked on Ramadan palliative to patients in some of the public facilities in the state.
It is not yet known why the action was taken against members of the group, especially at this period of security challenges in the country.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, disclosed this in Abuja, while congratulating Muslims on this occasion.
Aregbesola urged Nigerians, at home and abroad to use this year’s Eidul-Fitr celebration to pray for peace, stability and economic transformation in the nation.
Aregbesola admonished all Nigerians to be law-abiding and embrace the spirit of love, self-discipline, kindness and tolerance, as taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him).
The minister also called on all security agencies in Nigeria to be more courageous and patriotic to surmount the ongoing battle against resurging insecurity and activities of criminal elements in the nation.
ADC suspends chairman for anti-party activities

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has suspended its chairman in Rivers State, Hon. Sorlebari Sampson, over alleged anti-party activities during the April 17th, Local Government Council elections in the state.
The party also stated that it was considering the option of taking the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, and other agencies of government responsible for the conduct of the polls in the state for deceiving and extorting money from unsuspecting candidates
ADC in a communique issued by the State Working Committee of the party in Port Harcourt, yesterday, noted that part of the reason for the suspension was that the chairman adjudged the LG elections as free, fair, and credible when the process was actually questionable.
2021 Korea Basic Income Fair successfully concludes after drawing 600,000 visitors
