The following update from the Ready & Resilient Committee sent to faculty and staff focuses on the increased testing that will begin next week for students, faculty and staff as well as information about volunteering to assist with testing.

Thank you for participating in and volunteering to facilitate arrival testing. Below are updates regarding arrival testing results, increased testing offered Winter Term and Spring Semester, and our need for test site volunteers.

Campuses across the Washington State University system have planned more than 30 events in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday. The events will span several months and feature authors, songwriters, rappers, visual artists and films.
The full list of events can be viewed at the MLK Program website.
The celebration kicks-off with Virtual Bingo for Student Groups on Wednesday, Jan. 20 and concludes with Tongan Visual Artist Robin Fifita on Friday, April 30. Scheduled in between are a wide variety of events including several keynote addresses, beginning with Bree Newsome Bass on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m.
Tools, Webinar Address Equity Concerns and Faculty Workload

Faculty leaders and academic administrators who want to reform faculty workloads with equity in mind will find new tools and research available from ACE and can also register for a corresponding webinar happening this week.
The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked concerns among faculty about reasonable workloads. The paper, “Equity-Minded Faculty Workloads: What We Can and Should Do Now,” provides examples of policies and practices that promote equity-minded workplaces as well as tools, such as the Equity-Minded Faculty Workload Audit.
The Jan. 13 webinar, Equity-Minded Faculty Workloads by Design, will go deeper into the research and explore the unequal distribution of faculty workload and how that shapes faculty member experiences. Attendees will learn about evidence-based policies and practices used to identify inequalities, assess unit needs, and redesign workload with equit

Sophomores, juniors, seniors: Schar Center (look for tent in back of the building)
First-year students: Alumni Gym in Koury Athletics Center
Testing for everyone on all other days will occur in Alumni Gym.
Travel or weather delays
Same Day Arrival: If your travel is delayed and you can arrive at the test site during testing hours on the same day of your appointment, just come late to the test site.
