Malaysian authorities, through the amnesty scheme introduced last November, offer an opportunity for undocumented foreign workers to either return home voluntarily without facing any legal action or apply for legal status. The amnesty deadline, which ended last month, has been extended one more time until December 31. The extension of the deadline is expected to benefit more than 10,000 undocumented Nepali workers in the Southeast Asian country who could not use the scheme before its deadline expired on June 30.

BB sets new transaction timing for banks from July 15 United News of Bangladesh (UNB) Bangladesh, July 14 The Bangladesh Bank has set a new schedule for transactions at the banks against the backdrop of the government decision to relax the ongoing strict lockdown from July 15. As per a new circular issued by the central bank, now banks will carry out transactions from 10 am to 4 pm on July 15th, 18th and 19th instead of the existing 10 am to 2:30 pm. The circular says they can operate until 6 pm for conducting their other office activities instead of the previously set time of 4 pm.
