The report from a federal Senate inquiry for the Inland Rail has been pushed back yet again, making this the fourth time an extension has been granted for the handing down of the findings.
The inquiry titled
Management of the Inland Rail project by the Australian Rail Track Corporation and the Commonwealth Government included terms of reference included financial arrangements of the project route planning and selection processes, connections with other freight infrastructure including ports and intermodal hubs, engagement on route alignment procurement and employment, urban and regional economic development opportunities, collaboration between governments, interaction with National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy, and any other related matters.

ALP Candidate for Flynn Matt Burnett has responded to Anthony Albaneseâs budget reply speech made in parliament on Thursday night.
Labor leader Anthony Albanese used his speech to pledge the Labor government would provide cash payments to 10,000 apprentices working in ânew energyâ areas such as rooftop solar, energy efficiency upgrades and green hydrogen.
Mr Burnett said the Labor government was creating âjobs of the futureâ.
âFor businesses, these apprenticeships mean more secure long term jobs in manufacturing, meeting the growing demand for skilled tradespeople, and capitalising on the changing demand for international energy exports,â Mr Burnett said.

A claim by the Victorian government that $93 million was cut from Commonwealth hospital funding has been labelled misleading by the federal Health Minister, who says the state itself asked for less money.
The dispute came as the Grattan Institute argued Victoria was getting a raw deal on road and rail spending and would have received an extra $1 billion for transport infrastructure over the next four years if the federal funding allocation matched the stateâs population.
