The Ontario government is investing $1.9 million in one-time combined federal-provincial funding to improve and upgrade long-term care homes in the Pembroke, Renfrew and Deep River.
Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski made the announcement April 19. The local recipients are Pembroke’s Miramichi Lodge, Renfrew’s Bonnechere Manor and Deep River’s North Renfrew Long-Term Care Services.

This is part of a $100 million investment to install heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, and make retrofits or repairs to fire sprinkler systems, in 95 long-term care homes across the province. These investments will help provide care, comfort and safety to residents, noted a press release issued by Yakabuski’s office.
