Date Time Ouyen Community Lake takes out local government award for excellence The Ouyen community has done our municipality proud earning the Mildura Rural City Council area an LGPro Annual Award for Excellence for the Ouyen Community Lake project. The project made Council one of just 10 local government areas across Victoria to receive an award, which was presented to the Ouyen Community Lake project team last night. Mildura Mayor Jason Modica praised the Ouyen community for creating and driving the project, which has had a transformative impact on the town. “The Ouyen Community Lake is an amazing community success story, transforming the former Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water (GWMWater) reservoir into a 14-hectare recreational boating and fishing lake,” Cr Modica said.
