The River Falls City Council approved the Mayorâs reappointment of Brenda Gaulke to the Park and Recreation Advisory Board through May 2024 at the July 27 common council meeting. The council also heard from Baker Tilly on the 2020 audit results, the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust on a request for city assistance, approved a couple of no parking ordinances and a lease to the LLC doing business as The Garage Bikes + Brews.Â
1. 2020 audit results
The City of River Fallsâ 2020 Audit was completed and presented by Baker Tilly at the July 27 council meeting. The audit presented no red flags and the council approved it. âThe process went very smoothly,â stated the presenting auditor. âEveryone was very responsive and very prepared.â
April 5
• A deputy responded to Emerson Avenue for a vehicle accident. The deputy observed the vehicle to have minor damage to the front driver side bumper and the driver stated he was traveling north on Emerson Avenue when he struck a deer.
• A deputy responded to Par Metta Circle for a vehicle hitting a house. The driver stated she had set the emergency brake on the vehicle as well as left the vehicle with manual transmission in first gear. The vehicle coasted backward down the driveway striking a house. The house sustained minor damage on the exterior however the interior wall was intruded upon including at least one wall stud inside the residence. The vehicle was pulled off the house and out of the yard without further damage to the house.
A portion of Route 678 in Bath County is closed due to a slope failure. The location is in the Williamsville area just south of the Highland County line.
