The senior senator from Minnesota Amy Klobuchar is the first woman to have been elected to the US Senate from her state. Her new book ‘Antitrust’ was released by Knopf Doubleday in April.

This morning (May 6), the Association of American Publishers (AAP) has announced that Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is the recipient of the organization’s 2021 Award for Distinguished Public Service.
This is good news for those who will be attending the association’s annual meeting on June 2 when the senator will be given her award: Klobuchar is not only one of the most decisive voices in the Democratic choir of the moment but also has one of the better senses of humor on Capitol Hill, where intelligent laughs are direly needed.

It was February 14, 2019, in the early afternoon, and for perhaps the first time in the 25-year history of Amazon.com Inc, Jeff Bezos was prepared to explain himself to his employees.
Bezos was a master compartmentalizer; his ability to keep the intricate threads of his personal and professional lives separate was unrivaled. This talent had allowed him to build Amazon while also running a space company, Blue Origin LLC, and reviving the Washington Post all while keeping his family life private. But those threads had gotten tangled. Bezos, a father of four, was the subject of tabloid stories in the National Enquirer about his relationship with a married former television host.
Bezos met with his staff to explain his split from MacKenzie in February 2019
That came after the National Enquirer revealed his affair with Sanchez
New details surrounding the affair and its resulting fallout are disclosed in an extract from Amazon Unbound: Jeff Bezos and the Invention of a Global Empire
The book also describes how Bezos told executives during the meeting: The story is completely wrong and out of order. MacKenzie is fine. The kids are fine
It also details an alleged change in Bezos behavior ahead of news of the affair breaking - the book claims meetings were delayed and his calendar became full

We are currently seeing an acceleration of the corporate consolidation of the entire global agrifood chain. The high-tech/data conglomerates, including Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, have joined traditional agribusiness giants, such as Corteva, Bayer, Cargill and Syngenta, in a quest to impose a certain type of agriculture and food production on the world.
Of course, those involved in this portray what they are doing as some kind of humanitarian endeavour – saving the planet with ‘climate-friendly solutions’, helping farmers or feeding the world. This is how many of them probably do genuinely regard their role inside their corporate echo chamber. But what they are really doing is repackaging the dispossessive strategies of imperialism as ‘feeding the world’.
