Shutterstock/PIYAWAT WONGOPASS The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently released an official definition of what the federal government will regard as “critical software,” a key, early stage step to implementing President Biden’s May executive order (EO) on cybersecurity.
Federal officials procuring and managing any so-called “EO-critical software” will need to ensure it meets to-be-established security standards.
