The EU on Wednesday cohosted a Global Cooperation and Training Framework workshop with Taiwan and the US. They discussed the restructuring of the global supply chain and joint financing of small and medium-sized enterprises. This was the first time the EU, represented by European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan Director Filip Grzegorzewski, cohosted such an event.
Launched in 2015, the framework aims to help bring Taiwan’s expertise to the global stage. Essentially, it was designed to find ways to include Taiwan in global efforts, as it remains excluded from international organizations.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tien Chung-kwang (田中光) on Friday met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Sandra Oudkirk in an online meeting promoting partnership among Pacific island nations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday.
The meeting, hosted by the Washington-based Heritage Foundation, revolved around how the US and Taiwan can assist Pacific island countries in their sustainable development and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the ministry said in a news release.

BEIJING (Global Times): Former officials, top scholars and a dozen of young scholars from China and the US had in-depth discussions on how to get China-US relations back on track at a forum held in Beijing on April 10.
China-US Young Scholars Forum, co-organised by the Global Times, the Carter Center of the US, and the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding with Peking University, was held online to commemorate 5th anniversary of the forum.
The event was also held on the day that marks the 50th anniversary of the ping-pong diplomacy between China and the US.
