Anonymous Content CEO Dawn Olmstead, ABC Entertainment alternative programming exec Robert Mills and Vernon Sanders, co-head of TV at Amazon Studios, are among the six new appointees to the Television Academy Executive Committee.
The group will work closely with the Television Academy’s officers and board of governors to develop and guide the direction of the organization for the 2021 term.

Although Dare Me only showed up on Netflix beginning on December 29, 2020, for Season 1, the drama series has already been canceled.
However, the show which originally aired on the USA Network beginning December 29, 2019 has suddenly made its way to the top ten list on the streaming service. This renewed interest in the cheerleading drama could very well cause the situation to be reversed.
In fact, The Hollywood Reporter’s sources say Universal Content Productions, the producer of Dare Me, will look to other outlets for a Season 2 pick-up.

Variety, a full series is in the works at Universal Content Productions that is thankfully and appropriately titled
Super Freak for the time being, at least.

It’s still in the very early stages of development, so there is no attached streaming service or network as of yet. However, it is already being described as “a funkadelic mix of music biopic and true crime,” in
Variety’s words, as the show explores James’ attempt at a comeback in the early 1990s during a rather pivotal trial. While the show’s timeline appears to align with James’ 1991 arrest and eventual conviction for two counts of kidnapping while intoxicated, there’s no telling how closely the show will follow the details of James’ real life.

Just a few weeks ahead of the show s premiere on SYFY, the full trailer for Resident Alien has arrived online. The new dramedy series stars Alan Tudyk and based is on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, marking the latest appearance by the fan-favorite actor in a comic book property for television. Tudyk previously appeared on Doom Patrol and The Tick and lent his voice to Harley Quinn and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. For Resident Alien he takes on the title role, attempting to live on Earth in disguise as a human well not of this world but circumstances force him into a scenario that even actual people would find hard to navigate. Premiering on Wednesday, January 27 at 10pm ET/PT, you can watch the
