The Nigerian Civil Society Community has been thrown into mourning over the death of Spokesman of the Pan-Yoruba Group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.

An international rights organization, Global Rights Nigeria, Monday, reported that 4, 556 Nigerians were killed in 2020 as the insecurity situation remains worrisome across the country.
The report called ‘Mass Atrocities Report 2020’ was made public by the Country Director, Global Rights Nigeria, Abiodun Baiyewu, at a media briefing, while delivering a speech on the report.
Baiyewu said tracking of mass atrocities across Nigeria for 2020 was based on casualties of violent attacks, clashes, terrorism, kidnappings, and extrajudicial killings.
According to her the state with the highest number of fatalities remained Borno State in the North East region of the country, closely followed by Kaduna State, in the North West region, while the state with the lowest number of fatalities was Gombe State in the North East region w

AS Nigerian and Nigerians grapple with economic recession and second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, Monday, disagreed and condemned the alleged move by the Federal Government to sell public assets to implement 2021 budget.
While speaking with Vanguard they pointed out that the move is ill-conceived and will be an action to totally collapse the ailing economy, and added that the impact of borrowing that has seriously affected the economy with inflation reaching over 15 per cent, unemployment on the rise on daily basis, businesses folding up and leaving the country, the Naira being devalued, and crime on the rise.
