ISLAMABAD: The World Squash Federation (WSF) has officially announced (The News broke the story -April 15 edition) holding 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Islamabad from November 24-28, 2021.
WSF Emeritus President Jahangir Khan – a six-time World Champion born in Karachi, Pakistan – will act as an ambassador of the event. A conference lasting a day and a half will take place before the AGM featuring high-level speakers from across the sporting world.
Representatives from over 40 National Federations are expected to attend the 51st WSF AGM.
“Pakistan has a rich heritage in squash with a host of former World No.1s and World Champions hailing from the nation, so it makes sense to start our second half-century of WSF AGMs there,” said WSF President Zena Wooldridge.
PSF’s request for place in seeding committees turned down

KARACHI: Pakistan Squash Federation’s (PSF) request to include the country in the seeding committees of international squash events has been turned down.
According to the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting of the World Squash Federation (WSF), a motion was moved by PSF’s Tahir Sultan in this regard.
He presented the rationale for this motion to the house and requested that “Pakistan may be included in the Seeding Committee for events conducted under the umbrella of the WSF”.
But the delegate for Belgium raised the point that this was not an AGM decision and was the purview of the WSF Board.

The World Squash Federation (WSF) has confirmed plans to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in person in Pakistan in November.
The organisation has scheduled the annual gathering of its membership for November 24 to 28 in Pakistan s capital Islamabad.
It is due to be the 51st WSF AGM and is expected to be attended by more than 40 National Federations.
A day-and-a-half conference featuring high-level speakers is set to be held before the AGM, the WSF said.

Pakistan all set to host AGM of World Squash Federation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has won the hosting rights of the 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the World Squash Federation (WSF) to be held for the first time in the second half of this year.
The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) had placed a bid to host the AGM in August 2020 and was one of the five leading countries eager to host this meeting.
A well-placed source has told ‘The News’ that the WSF’s Board has allotted the AGM 2021 to Pakistan. “The official announcement of the WSF’s decision is expected to be made within the next few days.”
