LONDON, England The Middle East emerged the big winner with the biggest players within the British travel industry, who named Dubai the destination of the year and Emirates the airline of the year at a major gala event held in London. The best in the UK travel trade gathered at the Leicester Square Odeon Cinema Tuesday night to fete the most innovative and outstanding players in the industry at the TTG Travel Awards 2013. New categories added this year include Luxury Travel Agent of the Year, which went to Carrier Travel, which also took the award in the category of Luxury Tour Operator of the Year. (ATR) The governing body for soccer in North and Central America and the Caribbean (Concacaf) announces a multi-year partnership with Qatar Airways.

The deal begins with this year’s Concacaf Gold Cup, held in the United States from July 10-August 1. Qatar Airways will be the Official Airline of the tournament.
Qatar Airways’ brand will be prominently featured at all 11 Gold Cup venues across eight major U.S. metropolitan areas. The airline will also become the presenting partner of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League, and gain visibility at other international events such as the Concacaf Champions League, Caribbean Club Championship and the confederation’s age-group World Cup qualification events.
