Reverend Soritua Albert Ernts Nababan, a Protestant pastor widely recognized both in Indonesia and the world for his ecumenical work, has died at the age of 87.
He died on May 8 in a Jakarta hospital from respiratory problems.
Communion of Churches in Indonesia chairman Reverend Gomar Gultom paid tribute to the pastor, saying his death was a big loss to the ecumenical movement, both nationally and internationally, and would be felt particularly among Indonesian Christians.
POLAND D. Anna (Nan) Buchanan, 80, passed away Tuesday (May 4).
Nan was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Ed and Dorothy Forsman.
She graduated from Eveleth High School and Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Her degree was in accounting and finance.
She married her college sweetheart and they welcomed a beautiful daughter, Anne and a handsome son, Timothy.
She was a proud and humble Swede, who loved to tango!
In July 1986, she married C. Robert Buchanan, an architect from Youngstown. Nan and Bob restored a home on eight beautiful acres of woodlands in Poland Township. The house reflected Nan’s love and interest in art, music, and photography.

Early this morning (May 5), many Mar Thoma Malaysians were met with the news that His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan, a venerable bishop of the Mar Thoma Syrian Christian Church, had passed away at the Fellowship Mission Hospital in Kumbanad, in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, India. He had just celebrated his 104th birthday on April 27, and was regarded as one of the world’s oldest bishops.
