Despite fundraising efforts, The Rink in Holland has been put on the market, the Holland Sentinel reports. The owners, who also operate a youth ministry at the space, began a “Save The Rink” fundraising campaign in September 2020. They said in a social media post at the time,
We have all gone through the COVID 19 experience. Some have fared better than others, but if we are still above ground we have so much to be thankful for.
Nevertheless, the past 6 months have been extremely challenging for all business’ especially The Rink. Six months without income would shake the foundation of any organization. With your help, we want to do all we can to save The Rink from closing.

The COVID-19 Effect: TikTok videos of roller skaters dancing during quarantine drove some of the 389 percent increase in skate-and-blade sales at Death & Glory between summer 2019 and summer 2020, Heilmann says.
