The desire to be on stage, though, wasnât missing.
As a teenager, Federle wanted to take a particular jazz dance class but it met at the same time as high school musical rehearsal. âI felt like I had to make a choice. I could be in the musical ⦠or the (dance) class might set me up for a professional career.â

Olivia Rodrigo And Joshua Bennett Back For High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2

Things are about to get interesting because Disney+ just announced the release date for “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” Season 2 and Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bennett are back in the lead roles.
Since the last season of the show, Rodrigo and Bennett ended their off-screen relationship, and her song, “Driver’s License,” about the drama surrounding it, has been one of the biggest hits Spotify has seen.
Season 2 is slated to be released on May 14 on the streaming platform, so go ahead and make sure you set a reminder so you don’t miss the premiere.
Utah-made âHigh School Musicalâ series will return in May
Season 2 was delayed when the coronavirus shut down production for seven months.

After a long delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Season 2 of âHigh School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesâ will premiere May 14 on Disney+ â 16 months after the end of Season 1.
The made-in-Utah series was originally slated to begin streaming its second season in late 2020. Work began on new episodes February 2020 â mostly at East High School in Salt Lake City â but had to shut down because of the coronavirus in mid-March. Under strict COVID-19 protocols, production resumed in October.

Andrew Barth Feldman and Asher Angel To Guest Star in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has been a hit on Disney+, and season 2 will welcome a few new faces to the mix. Disney announced that Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen, Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical) and Asher Angel (Andi Mack, Shazam!) are joining the show in season 2 as guest stars. We aren t sure who they will be playing in the show just yet or how big a role either of them have throughout season 2, but both seem to be substantial roles going by executive producer Tim Federle s comments.
