The man allegedly murdered by his partner at his Christchurch home and buried in the backyard just after Christmas will be farewelled this week.
Martin Orme Berry, 55, was allegedly murdered on December 29 at his home on Main North Rd in the northern suburb of Papanui.
His partner Rena Maloney - also known as Rena Joyce - has been charged with murder.

The woman accused of murdering a man and burying him in the backyard of his north Christchurch home has appeared in court.
Rena Joyce, 55, a kitchen hand - listed on court documents as living at the same address as her alleged victim - is charged with murdering Martin Orme Berry by stabbing or cutting on December 29.

A 31-year-old man has appeared in the Christchurch District Court this morning charged with the murder of Kane Wayman on New Year s Day.
He is the fourth person to face charged in connection to Wayman s violent death.
And police say more people could be put before the courts as the investigation into the alleged New Year murder continues.
Wayman was dropped off at Christchurch Hospital with critical injuries on January 1.
