“Postwar American Fiction and the Rise of Modern Conservatism: The Meaning of Ralph Ellison’s (Near) Invisibility on the Right.” Dr. Santin works as an assistant professor of English at Concordia University Irvine, and his talk will approach this topic from an historical and literary angle. However, the sheer volume of album submissions meant a LONG road to catching up! Thankfully, we finally made it through to the enchantingly-illustrated debut from Austin-based cellist, singer, and songwriter
You Run, which was released last summer (but only recently uploaded for our listeners). We talked to the artist about this intimate record, which was more than six years in the making. Covering everything from her writing process and inspiration behind the songs to the production and instrumentation involved in evoking such personal spaces, our conversation offers insight to her poignant lyrics that grapple with grief, intimacy, and perseverance. Amarillo Art Institute (AAI), about two upcoming exhibits in the Texas Panhandle this Spring. So if you’re an artist and want to submit your work, mark your calendar!
