The lawsuit, filed in 3rd District Court Monday, says the decision has stripped 21,000 students of basic right secured by the Utah Constitution. Under the Utah Constitution, Utah students are entitled to a free and open public education, the lawsuit states. It was the only school district in Utah to select that option in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
