Yellow looks to add 1,500 drivers, open new trucking schools Yellow Corporation ( CCJ Top 250, No. 5), which recently changed its name from YRC, is looking to fill 1,500 truck driver positions and open 12 driving schools across the country. Classroom instruction and in-cab skills training at the 12 Yellow Driving Academies will be provided by Yellow’s longest serving, most experienced truckers. “At a time when many Americans are looking to start a new career, Yellow is in hire mode. These are good jobs with competitive benefits in a community near you,” says Yellow CEO Darren Hawkins. Yellow has identified 12 locations for driving academies, including Charlotte, North Carolina; Cleveland, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; Ft. AmiTruck Raises Pre-Seed Funding Led By Supply Chain Investor Dynamo Ventures

Amitruck has secured an ‘undisclosed’ investment led by US – based Dynamo Ventures with participation from Plug and Play Ventures and a collection of strategic angel investors after completing the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa late last year. The secured funds will be used to expand its business across East Africa. The company has since had a positive outlook in the year, growing revenues by over 300% despite COVID-19 crisis. In May 2020, management consulting company McKinsey tracked a total flow of $28 billion in funding to T&L technology startups from 2015 to 2019. Despite a global pandemic, funding soared in 2020 to $1.7B across 683 deals, according to market research firm CB Insights.
