December exports hit a peak at 10,500 units; domestic sales up 43%
Tractor exports from India touched a record monthly high of about 10,500 units in December 2020.
December 2020 exports were higher by 31 per cent compared with 7,997 units in December 2019.
Tractor sales in the domestic market stood at 61,249 units in December 2020 compared with 42,806 units in December 2019, an increase of 43 per cent, according to data from the Tractor & Mechanization Association (TMA).

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the USD 19.4 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its tractor sales numbers for December 2020.
Domestic sales in December 2020 were at 21,173 units, as against 17,213 units during December 2019.
Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during December 2020 were at 22,417 units, as against 17,991 units for the same period last year.
Exports for the month stood at 1,244 units.
Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President - Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, We have sold 21,173 tractors in the domestic market during December 2020 with a growth of 23% over last year. Sequentially, the auto sales jumped 7.52% in December 2020 compared with 32,726 units in November 2020.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales in December 2020 stood at 16,182 units as against 15,691 units during December 2019, registering a gain of 3% Y-o-Y (year-on-year). Export for December 2020 stood at 2,210 units, recording a 3% growth over 2,149 units exported in the same month last year.
Veejay Nakra, the Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Division of M&M, said that: At Mahindra we have witnessed a growth of 5% in Utility Vehicles in the month of December. Our overall sales have been affected due to the continuing supply chain challenges related to the constantly changing global environment, more specifically the supply shortage of micro-processors (semiconductors) used in Electronic Control Unit (ECUs). Demand continues to remain strong even after the festive season and as we get into the new year.

ZIO-Podolsk JSC (owned by Atomenergomash JSC, Rosatom Mechanical Engineering Division) has manufactured and shipped the set of main equipment for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP).
The second set of Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) Tanks for the reactor core has been shipped to the Republic of Bangladesh. The equipment is intended for the reactor hall of the second NPP Power Unit.
The Emergency Core Cooling System Tanks are included into the reactor plant - one Tank for each reactor coolant loop. The ECCS is designed for automatic supply of boric acid cooling solution to the reactor core in case of coolant loss and shall be put in operation in case of the primary circuit emergency depressurization.
