The Dangers of Evil and Misguided Clerics/Scholars In Islam, By Murtadha Gusau
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Brothers and sisters! Who are evil and misguided scholars? Here is a rule by Imam Ash-Shatibi who said:
“Evil and misguided scholars are those who are dangerous to mankind. They are a disease to mankind, and they are those who do not act on their knowledge.”
In his book
Al-Fawa’id, Ibnul Qayyim gave a parable. He said:
“Evil and misguided scholars are like people sitting on the gates of Paradise (Jannah) and calling people to come on in. With their tongues they are saying come on in, come on in, but their actions are saying do not come in. The more they talk to people and tell people to come in, the more their actions say do not listen to us, because if we were indeed truthful then we would have been the first to apply it…”

Candidate Muhammadu Buhari’s most internationally acclaimed speech is the one he delivered six years ago at Chatham House in London. At the peak of his election campaign and amidst concerns about his past record of dictatorship, he assured the world that he had been born-again. “I cannot change the past. But I can change the present and the future. So before you is a former military ruler and a converted democrat who is ready to operate under democratic norms…” Buhari repeated variants of this line several times before the election and upon being sworn-in as president.

No government agency has been criticized, defamed, and its senior employees referred to the prosecution, as happened with the Public Authority to take care of the printing and publication of the Noble Quran and the Sunnah and their sciences.
Despite the fact that approximately 3,650 days have passed since the establishment of the authority, it failed to print one copy of the Quran which is its main goal and tens of millions of dinars were wasted on salaries, committee remuneration, travel, inspection and supervision costs, studying the purchase of printing presses and so on, and the matter ended after ten years with change in the officials and referrals to the Prosecution and suspicion of embezzlement.
