Stellantis announced Wednesday that its Windsor Assembly plant will be shut down for the rest of June due to the ongoing global shortage of semiconductor microchips.
The company informed Unifor Local 444 Wednesday that the week of June 28 has been added to the list of shutdown weeks. The plant was idled this week after working a partial shift the week before.
Fertilizer producer Mosaic Co. said on Friday it would immediately cut production at its biggest potash mine due to flood risks, and restart an idled mine to offset some of the reduction.
Just three days after the Windsor Assembly Plant resumed shifts following a nearly two-month hiatus, the company has informed Unifor Local 444 of another shutdown.
