Muslim organisations protest in Hyderabad against ex-UP Shia Waqf Board chief ANI | Updated: Mar 16, 2021 16:34 IST Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 16 (ANI): Various Muslim organisations on Tuesday held a rally to protest against former Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairmanWasim Rizvi over his petition filed in the Supreme Court wherein he has sought the removal of 26 verses from the Quran. A Tahaffuz-e-Quran and Shia Sunni Itehaad rally was organised at Maidan-e-Ghadeer Darul-Shifa in the state capital to condemn the petition filed by Rizvi. Religious leaders from both Shia and Sunni Community participated in the rally. Both Shia and Sunni religious leaders have condemned the attack of Waseem Rizvi on the sanctity of the Quran and said that it will not be tolerated and we will never endorse such statements .

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 16 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) local leaders and workers from Hyderabad on Tuesday staged a protest in Amberpet against former Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi and burnt his effigy over a petition filed by him in the Supreme Court seeking to remove 26 verses from the Quran.

Image Source: IANS News Panaji, March 16 : In a petition submitted to Goa Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena, the state BJP minority cell on Tuesday demanded the deportation of the former chief of Uttar Pradesh Shia central Waqf Board, Waseem Rizvi, over his petition before Supreme Court of India seeking deletion of 26 verses from the Quran. Speaking to reporters after submitting the petition to the state DGP, vice president of the Goa BJP minority cell Shaikh Riyaz also said that the petitioner was not aware of the contents of the Quran and had raked up the issue for self-glorification .
