Agitating farmers on Saturday held blockades at several points on the 135-km-long Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, which connects five districts of Haryana, in response to a call from farmer unions to protest against the farm laws. The protests led to traffic snarls and diversions at many points.

There is no imminent danger in the artificial lake formed after the avalanche in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand as the volume of water is less than expected and is flowing through a natural channel that has been widened, informed the Uttarakhand Chief Secretary on Monday.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Monday held a meeting with Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash and other top officials via video conferencing to review the status of the artificial lake formed in wake of an avalanche incident in the upper catchment of the Rishiganga River in Chamoli District on February 7.

The death toll in the Uttarakhand glacier burst incident has reached 70 after two more bodies were recovered from the debris, according to the state government on Tuesday. According to the information received from the disaster control room yesterday, one dead body was recovered from Srinagar Chauras and one from Kirti Nagar. Of the 206 missings, 70 bodies and 29 human organs have been recovered so far, said the Uttarakhand government.
