COVID-19: Uttarakhand to distribute Ivermectin tablets to all residents ANI | Updated: May 13, 2021 07:41 IST
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 13 (ANI): The Uttarakhand Government has ordered officials for mass distribution of Ivermectin tablets to all residents as a preventive medicine against the spread of COVID-19, a senior official said.
This announcement comes after Goa and Karnataka issued similar directions.
According to an order issued by Chief Secretary Om Prakash to all district magistrates, the decision was taken on the recommendation of the state-level clinical technical committee.
The panel has recommended the Ivermectin tablet as mass chemoprophylaxis to effectively combat COVID-19 surge apart from the ongoing vaccination drive, the order said.

Uttarakhand forms committee to float global tenders for COVID vaccines procurement ANI | Updated: May 12, 2021 05:41 IST
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 12 (ANI): Amid the shortage of COVIDvaccines supply, the Uttarakhand Government has constituted a 5-member committee which will work towards procuring vaccines through global tenders.
Uttarakhand Chief Secretary on Tuesday constituted a 5-member committee for vaccine procurement. It has become necessary to vaccinate the people of the state immediately against COVID-19 in order to contain the outbreak. Considering the shortage of Covishield and Covaxin, a committee has been formed to import these vaccines like Sputnik V from different countries. The committee will work towards procuring vaccines through global tenders, reads the state government order.

Uttarakhand CM dispatches 80 MT of oxygen for Garhwal, Kumaon Division ANI | Updated: May 12, 2021 10:22 IST
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 12 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief MinisterTirath Singh Rawat on Wednesday dispatched 80 metric tonnes of oxygen sent by the central government through the Oxygen Express at various stations in the state at the railway station at Harrawala.
The Chief Minister said that this oxygen will be sent to Garhwal Division and Kumaon Division. There was no shortage of oxygen in the state before but as the oxygen beds are increasing in hospitals, the consumption is also increasing. People of the state will get the benefit of this, he said.
