ND House Assistant Majority Leader Pleads Not Guilty To DUI

(Bismarck, ND)    North Dakota House Assistant Majority Leader Scott Louser is pleading not guilty to DUI.  Louser s attorney filed his written plea with the court yesterday along with a request for various pieces of evidence.  Louser has waived his May 12th initial court appearance.  If convicted, Louser faces a maximum of 30 days in jail and a 15-hundred-dollar fine.  Louser was pulled over early on April 16th when a Highway Patrol Trooper says the Assistant Majority Leader had crossed the center line several times.  Authorities say the 49-year-old Minot Republican failed three sobriety tests, refused another, and had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
