DeLand, FL – Registration is now open and required in order to be part of the Volusia County Schools (VCS) Summer Food Service Program. The program provides meals to children during the summer at no charge through the USDA Summer Food Service Program and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Since school ends Friday, June 4, there’s a gap between the end of the regular school year and the start of summer programs. You must register by tomorrow, June 3, to be eligible for a June 8 curbside pickup. Register at vcsedu.org. The distribution times are from 6:30 to 7 a.m. Students attending VCS Summer Programs in-person will receive their breakfast and lunch meals at no charge at the school they are attending. WORTHINGTON Independent School District 518 will be operating its summer food service program beginning June 7.
The program offers lunch and breakfast meals to anyone 18 years old or younger at no cost, Monday through Friday. Meal distribution will take place from 11 a.m. to noon for lunch meals at all sites unless otherwise specified. One location, Pirtles Park, will begin distribution at noon.
The locations for meal distribution in Worthington for the Summer Food Service Program are:
Learning Center, 825 N. Crailsheim Road (through July 1); Worthington Middle School, 1401 N.
