Miniature Masterpieces 2: When your canvas is tiny only 3 inches square then your painting project gets done lickety-split. Last fall we painted a fall and a winter scene, and now it’s time for warm weather works. Take-and-Make bags will be ready on May 17, with all the supplies you’ll need to create two tiny paintings. An instructional video will be posted on YouTube that same day. Ages 15 and up.

Teen Art Hour: Calling all teen crafters who like to go rogue and do your own thing. Portland District Library s May Teen Art Hour has your name all over it! In May s Take-and-Make bag you will have everything you need to tie dye a tote bag with permanent markers and rubbing alcohol. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In an important collaboration with The Pollinator Pathway program, Connecticut s Beardsley Zoo has joined the chain of properties with gardens that support butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and other pollinators. With multiple gardens throughout the Zoo grounds emphasizing the important connection between animals, people and plants, the Zoo was already recognized as a Monarch Waystation and as a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation.
Subscribe The Pollinator Pathway designation is one more way to signal the Zoo s role as a community leader in supporting wildlife and wild places, said Horticultural and Greenhouse Manager Jonathan Dancho. Our emphasis is on planting food sources for pollinators, using plants native to Connecticut, and not relying on chemicals to maintain the beauty of the Zoo grounds.
