A lavish, 43-acre Texas estate known locally as “Cluckingham Palace” due to its connection to its former poultry tycoon owner hit the market last week for $4.99 million.
Previously owned by Lonnie “Bo” Pilgrim, the late founder of food company Pilgrim s Pride one of the largest chicken producers in the U.S. the Chateau-like spread is on the outskirts of the East Texas city of Pittsburgh.
Built in 1992, the palatial manor was designed for the Pilgrim family as a “French Renaissance dream home,” according to the listing with Renee Harvey of Century 21 Harvey Properties.
